CompositionBotanical and aromatic structure

The balance of this infusion rests on the aromatic tension between the roundness of the sweet roots and the sharpness of the characterful spices.

Smooth base

Anise and licorice root form the initial mouth attack. They give the liquor a round texture and intense natural sweetness. Fennel ties these elements together with a vegetal note.

Spicy intensity

Cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, and cloves express themselves at the heart of the tasting, creating a diffuse warmth. Black pepper extends this thermal sensation in the finish.

ExpertiseMy selection of pure spices

I formulated this blend by categorically refusing the addition of liquid flavors. The taste relies solely on the quality of extraction from raw materials sourced from organic farming.

TipsMy extraction protocol

Reference preparation

Extracting raw spices requires a high temperature. Use water at 95°C for 2.5 grams of blend (about 250 ml). It’s essential to infuse covered for 5 to 7 minutes to capture the volatile essential oils.

Variations

  • The true homemade Chai Latte: Make a concentrate (4g of spices in 50 ml of water at 95°C for 5 minutes). Extend with 200 ml of very hot plant-based milk (oat). The fats lock in the aromatic intensity of the spices.
💡 The art of sharing: Caffeine-free Chai Latte is the ultimate comforting drink. Share this milky infusion method with your loved ones for their winter evenings.
FAQFrequently Asked Questions
Sleep Will this chai keep me from sleeping?

No. Unlike traditional café chai which contains black tea, this blend is made 100% of spices. There is no caffeine. Ginger is warming but does not stimulate the nervous system.

Licorice Why is there a warning about licorice?

Licorice root contains glycyrrhizic acid, which can raise blood pressure if consumed in large amounts. People with hypertension should avoid excessive consumption.

Digestion Is it true that these spices help with digestion?

Absolutely. Cardamom, fennel, and ginger are recognized in Ayurveda for stimulating digestion. It’s an excellent infusion after a heavy meal.

Sugar Should sugar be added to this infusion?

I recommend tasting it plain. Anise and licorice offer a pronounced natural sweetness at the first sip. In a Latte version with oat milk, adding sugar is often unnecessary.
