QualityMaterials & Expertise
Selected Materials
The porcelain used has a dense, non-porous structure that naturally resists stains and odor absorption. Its matte rough finish offers a unique tactile contrast and excellent grip in hand. The solid beech wood is known for its moderate hardness and dimensional stability once properly dried. This European wood features a natural light tone and fine texture that perfectly complements the understated look of the matte porcelain.
Manufacturing Process
The porcelain is fired at high temperature to ensure its strength and thermal resistance. The matte finish is achieved through a specific surface treatment that preserves the porcelain’s properties while creating this distinctive rough texture. The beech wood handle is shaped and stabilized to withstand daily use, then securely attached to the porcelain body.

FAQFrequently Asked Questions
UsageHow do I use this cup for the first time?
Before first use, rinse the cup with lukewarm water and a little mild soap, then dry it thoroughly, especially the wooden handle. Avoid soaking it during this initial cleaning. You can then preheat it by pouring hot water into it for a few seconds before preparing your tea, which helps maintain the temperature of your infusion longer. The wooden handle requires no special treatment before use; it is ready to use.
CareIs it dishwasher safe?
No, this cup should not be washed in the dishwasher. The high temperatures and prolonged moisture in the dishwasher can damage the beech wood by causing cracks, warping, or discoloration. Hand washing is essential to preserve the quality and durability of the wooden handle. Use lukewarm water, mild soap, and dry immediately after washing with a clean cloth. This simple routine ensures your cup will maintain its appearance and properties for many years.
CompatibilityWhat types of tea can I use it with?
This cup is suitable for all types of teas: green, white, black, oolong, pu-erh, flavored teas, and herbal infusions. Its 350ml capacity is ideal for teas that require a generous infusion. The non-porous porcelain does not absorb aromas or tannins, allowing you to switch from one type of tea to another without flavor transfer. It is also compatible with our Stainless steel filter permanent Piet filter, allowing you to brew your loose leaf tea directly in the cup. Also suitable for filter coffee and cold infusions.
DurabilityHow long does this cup last?
With proper care, this cup can last many years. Porcelain is an extremely durable material, resistant to thermal shocks and daily wear. Beech wood, when properly maintained (hand washing, immediate drying), retains its stability and natural appearance for a long time. To extend the lifespan of the wooden handle, you can occasionally nourish it with a food-safe oil (linseed or coconut) applied with a soft cloth. Avoid prolonged exposure to water and extreme humidity changes to prevent any wood deformation.
DimensionsWhat are the exact dimensions of this cup?
The cup has a capacity of 350ml (0.35L), which corresponds to a generous serving for tea or coffee. According to standards for mugs of this capacity, the approximate dimensions are: height around 9-10cm, opening diameter around 8-9cm. The mentioned slender shape indicates a vertical rather than wide design, offering a comfortable grip. The beech wood handle is sized to comfortably accommodate several fingers. These proportions make the cup suitable for most adult hands and ensure good stability on a table or standard coaster.
QualityWhat materials are used and why?
Porcelain was chosen for its dense, non-porous structure, making it naturally resistant to stains, odors, and cracks. Its rough matte finish offers superior grip and a contemporary visual appeal. European beech wood is selected for its moderate hardness, dimensional stability, and ability to remain cool to the touch even with hot liquids. It is sustainably managed wood in Europe, often FSC or PEFC certified. The combination of these two materials creates a unique tactile and visual contrast, blending the mineral freshness of porcelain with the organic warmth of wood.
