Composition My Three Pillars

I didn’t choose these three teas at random. They represent the fundamental processing methods: short steaming (green), full oxidation (black), and simple natural drying (white).

1. Sencha Fukujyu Organic

I sourced it from Shizuoka. It’s the essence of Japanese green tea: a short steaming (asamushi) that preserves the chlorophyll. The liquor is a bright olive green. You’ll find a clear, very vegetal umami, perfect for waking up without jitters.

2. Earl Grey Deluxe

A classic, but crafted without compromise. A base of robust black tea from India and Ceylon, which I paired with genuine essential oils of Calabrian bergamot (with no synthetic flavoring). It’s the quintessential afternoon tea.

3. Pai Mu Tan (White Peony)

For the evening, I suggest this spring harvest from Fujian. The processing is minimal: the silver buds dry slowly. In the cup, it has a silky, almost velvety texture, with extremely soft floral notes.

Guide My Tasting Journey

I suggest a progressive journey. Simply follow the evolution of caffeine and aromatic intensity throughout your day.

Suggested Ritual

  • Morning (Sencha Fukujyu): Vegetal freshness. Its umami gives a clean kick, and its moderate caffeine (30-40 mg) will help you avoid the "coffee crash."
  • Afternoon (Earl Grey Deluxe): Robustness. It perfectly supports digestion after a meal and offers a nice energy boost (50-60 mg).
  • Evening (Pai Mu Tan): Contemplation. Its subtle notes soothe the palate, and its very low caffeine content (15-20 mg) will not disturb your sleep.

Notice the difference

When brewing these teas, pay attention to thermodynamics. Sencha burns at 80°C, while Earl Grey needs near-boiling water to express itself. Here are my extraction settings:

Know-how My Selection Requirement

Even for a "discovery" pack, I refuse approximation. Each tea in this selection meets the same strict criteria as my grand crus.

My Cross-Criteria

  • Verified Origin: No anonymous blends. I trace my teas from Shizuoka to Fujian via Calabria for the bergamot.
  • Whole Leaves: You will find no tea dust in these sachets. Only whole leaves or intact buds.
  • Zero Synthesis: The Earl Grey flavoring comes exclusively from natural essential oils. Authenticity of the product above all.

Tips Preparation and Storage

The right equipment

Ideally, use a glass or white porcelain teapot. This will allow you to observe the fascinating color difference between the infusions. I strongly recommend using a kettle with adjustable temperature to avoid burning the Sencha and Pai Mu Tan.

Water (The forgotten parameter)

Tap water that is too hard will crush the subtle aromas of white tea. Always use water with low mineral content (dry residue less than 100 mg/L) to let the leaves express themselves.

Storage

Make sure to reseal each sachet well after opening. Green tea (Sencha) is the most delicate: I recommend consuming it within 2 to 3 months. Black and white teas are more stable and will keep perfectly for up to 6 months.

FAQ Frequently Asked Questions
Duration How long does it take to consume the pack?

With its 36 g, this pack offers you about 16 cups. At one cup per day, that’s more than two weeks of exploration. It’s the ideal size to test without getting bored.

Gift Is this pack suitable as a gift?

Yes, I designed it precisely for that. It’s perfect for a coffee lover who wants to discover premium tea, or for a curious friend wanting to finally understand the concrete difference between green, black, and white tea.

Reinfusion Can I infuse the same leaves multiple times?

Absolutely, it's even recommended for Sencha and Pai Mu Tan. For Sencha, do a second infusion at 80°C for 30 seconds. For Pai Mu Tan, simply extend the time of your second infusion to 5 minutes. However, Earl Grey will release most of its bergamot flavor in the first cup.

Level Do you need to be an expert to appreciate this pack?

Not at all. Earl Grey will serve as a comforting and indulgent reference point, while Sencha and Pai Mu Tan will open up new horizons for you. My only advice: carefully follow the temperature instructions indicated on the sachets.
